How can we pray for you?

Pray without ceasing...

This is the call given by Paul to the Thessalonians, to "pray without ceasing", or to "pray incessantly."

In Romans, Paul says, "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express."

The call is for us to pray always, and we should do this knowing that the Spirit of God himself is praying for us even when we know not what to pray for.

Obviously, we should pray. If we are not only called to do it, but see that the Spirit of God himself finds it important enough to pray, we would be well inclined to give ourselves to this work as well.

We may find it easier to go to God with our own hurts, worries, disappointments and needs, and we should do just that. We need God's intervention in all things. We are sinners in a sinful world. Apart from God's work through Christ, we are dead and our worlds are a wreck. We have nothing to lay claim to outside of Christ and His redeeming work. So we would be wise to involve God in every aspect of life.

In the same way that we need God in all things, so do those around us. James calls us to pray for one another that we may be healed. This blog is for that very thing. It is a way to communicate your needs, struggles, hurts, and even praises, to the family and friends who will be reading it.

There are many things that we would do for each other. We might loan one another money, give some advice, or even help each other move (for the tightest of relationships). But would you pray for one another? As simple as the calling might be, its implications are beyond our comprehension. This blog is a place for you to post your prayer needs. As small or large as they may be, let us not for a moment think that God doesn't care, or God can't do anything with it, for all things are possible with Him.

Post away!
